Roatán is a diving and snorkeling paradise – virtually its entire coastline is fringed by an astonishingly diverse coral reef teeming with tropical fish. On land, exquisite white-sand beaches like West Bay, a mountainous interior of pine-forested hills and the remote wild east of the island (once a pirate hangout) beg to be explored.
Whether you are a seasoned diver or a beginner, this trip is for you! Our on island five- star dive center has all you need. Those seeking their PADI certification can easily achieve this while on island.
Don’t want to study while on vacation? No problem! Complete your e-learning prior to arriving on island so you can dive right into the fun stuff….literally.
This divers paradise offers a variety of dives for all levels including: wall dives, shipwrecks, shallow corals, macro marine life (seahorses are a must) and some giants of the ocean, like the incredible whale shark. It is very versatile for divers since the dive sites are just a few minutes from the coast and there are plenty to choose from.
Your private transfer from Juan Manuel Galvez International Airport will be waiting for you upon arrival to paradise. You will check into your gorgeous boutique beach front hotel. Catch a breathtaking sunset at a neighbouring beach bar while sipping on a pina colada.
Enjoy an oceanside breakfast, followed by day one of Open Water Diver certification. You will have a total of four dives for your certification. Enjoy the afternoon relaxing at West Bay beach. Today is the day as the cruise ships are not in and the beach will be less congested. Lunch at Argentinian Grill for a Yaba ding ding salad and a coconut margarita are a must!
After breakfast enjoy day two of your open water diver certification. Enjoy an afternoon of adventure and breathtaking views during a canopy and zipline tour composed of 16 platforms and 11 steal suspension cables strung at various heights between trees.
After breakfast enjoy day three of your open water diver certification. In the afternoon a visit to Gumbalina Park. The tour includes activities such as walking through trails, crossing on a suspended bridge of 237 feet long over a small lagoon, visiting various animals in their natural state. The animals that you will see are the green and black iguanas, agoutis, white-faced monkeys, Scarlett and Green Macaws, parrots, and other species of fauna. Gumbalimba also provides a program that rescues and rehabilitates animals or is in need of an appropriate living environment. Some of the animals that you will be interacting with are the monkeys and macaws, where you will be allowed to take pictures with them. In addition, we will be seeing local fauna, an insectarium, and a cave/museum with a brief history of our island.
After breakfast complete your last day of open water diver certification. To celebrate the occasion lift off in the afternoon on a parasail high above the bay of Honduras and fill your senses with awe from 800 feet looking down upon our magnificent living reefs and flying eye level with peaked jungle draped mountains.
After breakfast your private chartered boat will take you on a day of diving and deep sea fishing. Your guide will take you to spots only locals know about.
Your last full day on island. Relax beachside, do a little shopping.
